Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program Earns Student a Free Book!

The Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program marks its twenty-first year celebrating the power
of books to expand children’s horizons. Once again, they’re partnering with educators and parents to inspire readers in first through sixth grades to have a summer filled with reading adventures —
and earn a FREE book! Our program encourages students to let books transport them to the most exciting destination of all: the imagination. The Summer Reading Program is designed to reinforce learning, nurture skills and motivate students to extend their reading through the summer vacation. Students can pick the books they want to read and proceed at their own pace. This package includes a reading journal for students to track their reading progress throughout the summer. Distribute the reading journal to your class, and the rest is simple. Students enter the names of their books in their reading journal as they read them. When they’ve read eight books, they can return the completed journal to any Barnes & Noble bookstore to get a free book (see journal for details). Parent/guardian signatures are required. You’ll find a downloadable version of the Summer Reading Journal online at http://www.BN.COM/summerreading  and also below.
