We invite you to our Wilson Reading System Introductory Workshop.
Program Description: The Wilson Reading System is a comprehensive remedial program for students in grades 2-12 and adultswith word-level deficits (Tier 3). This 3-day introductory workshop provides hands-on practice andapplication of skills with the WRS Lesson Plan to effectively begin implementing the program.
Workshop Topics: Reading research • Principles of language structure • How the WRS addresses the fiveareas of reading • Program implementation • Student placement, progress monitoring, and scheduling •Creating a successful classroom environment • Participants write lesson plans and practice lesson procedures.
Prerequisite: None.
Completion: This course fulfills the prerequisite for Wilson Academy membership and WRS certification programs. 1 Graduate Credit available through Fitchburg State University upon completion of the workshop at an additional cost of $250. Contact fitchburgstate.edu/dyslexia for more information.
Fine Print: Registration is processed on a first-come first-served paid payment basis. Class size is limited to 30 participants. Payment is due at the time of registration and includes continental breakfast and workshop materials.
Early registration is suggested to guarantee workshop materials. Check-in time is 7:30 - 8:00am. Lunch is a 1-hour break on your own. Additional instructor needs and materials are sold separately.
Cancellation policy: In the event that you need to cancel, you must contact us in writing at
[email protected]. Cancellation requests must identify the invoice number, registrant's name, workshop name, email address, and amount paid. There is a $25 cancellation fee. No shows will be billed at cost.
