Through funding provided by a contract with the Ohio Department of Health, Infant Hearing Program, the Ohio Coalition for the Education of Children with Disabilities is honored to announce that they have been given the opportunity to send a parent/parents to the Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) Conference in Kansas City, MO on March 8-10, 2020.

OCECD will be able to sponsor travel expenses up to $2985 maximum. Included in this reimbursement will be conference registration for one or both parents, travel expenses, you may choose what mode of transportation you prefer. If you choose to fly you will be responsible for making the travel arrangements and paying for them due to airport securing. You will be reimbursed in a timely manner 
once OCECD receives the receipt for tickets purchased.

If you would like to drive to Kansas City, MO for the conference, mileage will be reimbursed at the rate of $.575 per mile. Parking fees and ground transportation (Uber, taxi) could also be reimbursed to you if receipts are provided.

Lodging will be reimbursed as well as cost of meals. (Non-alcoholic beverages only will be included for reimbursement, $66 per day for meals max. per parent on Conference Days)

All receipts for allowable reimbursements must be mailed or emailed to OCECD, 165 W. Center St., Suite 302, Marion, OH 43302 or [email protected], within 30 days of the conference for reimbursement.

WHO CAN APPLY?
      •    Must be a family residing in the state of Ohio
      •    Have a child age 0-3 years of age diagnosed with a hearing loss
      •    Currently receiving Early Intervention Services, or in the process
      •    Have not attended the EHDI conference in the past

HOW TO APPLY
      • Fill out the attached application and email, fax or mail to OCECD (mailing address, email and fax information listed on application)
      • Include how you hope to benefit from this conference (please use space provided t of the application)

THE REVIEW PROCESS
      •    Applications must be received no later than noon, January 22, 2020
      •    Applications will be reviewed by a team
      •    The applicant chosen will be notified by phone, no later than January 27, 2020. If you have not been notified by that date       
            you probably weren’t chosen.
      •   The Early registration deadline is February 01, 2020.  If you are chosen to attend the conference, you will need to confirm that
            you will be attending by January 24, 2020 as we will need to actually register you to get the discount.


IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED AS A CANDIDATE TO ATTEND THE EHDI CONFERENCE, APPLICANT MUST BE WILLING TO ATTEND THE UPCOMING UNIVERSAL NEWBORN HEARING SCREENING SUBCOMMITTEE MEETING HELD AFTER THE EHDI CONF. THIS MEETING WILL TAKE PLACE IN COLUMBUS, OH, APRIL 24, 2020 FROM 10 AM UNTIL 2 PM AND LOCATION WILL BE PROVIDED ONCE CONFIRMED.
