Dr. Kelly Purtell

associate professor in Human Sciences and Crane Center faculty fellow

The transition to kindergarten is challenging for many children and families. Recent research by Dr. Purtell examines a variety of factors in kindergarten transitions, including pathways to kindergarten, policies that impact this transition, and data about the overall process that was collected through Crane's Early Learning Ohio project. During this forum, Dr. Purtell will discuss how policies and preschool experiences shape children’s experiences and success in kindergarten.
