This document is designed for parents and guardians who may need clarification about what supports are in place in the school for their child and for all children’s behavior needs. The focus on PBIS is to include a framework that focuses on positive behaviors, academics, social and emotional support, and to improve a more positive school culture.

Ohio law has mandated that all districts and schools implement PBIS at all three tiers (Tier 1, 2, and 3) in order to support all students' needs at varying levels. Your child’s school and district are required to provide your child with PBIS at the Tier 1 level, and then add Tier 2 or 3 supports as your child needs.
