| The Ohio Coalition for the Education of Children with Disabilities (OCECD) is seeking a REGION 5 INTAKE/REFERRAL/ INFORMATION SPECIALIST/TRAINER to join our team. Our organization is looking for an individual that wishes to use their skills to assist us in meeting our duties as a non-profit organization and our responsibilities as the Parent Training and Information Center for Ohio (PTI). OCECD is a statewide nonprofit organization that serves families of infants, toddlers, children, and youth with disabilities in Ohio, and educators and agencies who provide services to them.
| | BASIC FUNCTION:PROVIDES INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE TO PARENTS/ FAMILIES IN ASSIGNED AREA OF THE STATE OF OHIO (DELAWARE, GUERNSEY, LICKING, MARION, MONROE, MORGAN, MORROW, MUSKINGUM, NOBLE, PERRY, SUMMIT, UNION, AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES). MAINTAINS AND ORGANIZES OFFICE AND RESOURCE MATERIALS FOR FAMILIES. CONDUCTS INDIVIDUAL/GROUP TRAININGS/WORKSHOPS AND PERFORMS TRAINER DUTIES FOR OCECD. INTAKE/REFERRAL INCLUDES ANSWERING CALLS, RETURNING CALLS, GREETING AND ASSISTING CALLERS POSITIVELY AND PROFESSIONALLY, AND ACCURATELY DIRECTING PHONE CALLS TO THE APPROPRIATE STAFF MEMBER. SUPPORTS OHIO DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH INFANT HEARING PROJECT. REPORTS TO THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AND THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
| | | PARENT ASSISTANCE/TRAINING
| | | Conducts workshops for parents (individual or groups) and professional groups on IEP’s, Rights, Section 504, ETR, IEP Clinics and all other OCECD topics when requested.
- Some light material handling/lifting of training materials will be necessary.
- Overnight stays may be necessary for some trainings, depending upon the distance from home.
- Provides presentations to groups about OCECD and the parent perspective on disabilities.
- Learns topical information and presentation skills for all OCECD’s trainings.
| | | - Enter Consumer & Professional Intake/Referral contacts records into Free Agent
- Complete all required information for each type of record.
- Ensure that all automatic communication tracking is recording.
- Manually enter all other communication·
- Enter Manual Tracking for interactions between OCECD staff.
- Enter all required data for meetings.
- Ensure that all data is entered before the 10th of the following month.
- Submits Meeting Participant Lists, Travel Report.
- Submits other forms as necessary or requested by OCECD main office.
- Submits Time Sheet with Leave Report from the Absence MGNMT System by the 10th of each month.

| | | OHIO DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH (Infant Hearing Project) SUPPORT- Connects with ODH parents directly by phone (High Track System for Early Intervention or diagnostic testing) by connecting with families within 7 days of receipt of the referral by the High Track System.
- Makes up to 3 calls to family, for Early Intervention or diagnostic testing. Marks response and keeps a record for the Monthly ODH report.
- Participates in monthly ODH project calls when ask by the project lead.
| | | - Researches/Outreach the assigned Ohio Region organizations and agencies to build a collaborative relationship to support the mission of the Coalition.
- Meets with agencies or organizations and/or presents to acquaint them with OCECD.
(May sit on task forces when asked by the OCECD’s Directors).
| | KEEPS COMPLETE RECORD FOR SUBMISSION- Submits contact forms and training paperwork by the 10th of the following month.
- Submits training forms when training is confirmed, minimum of 2 weeks prior for shipment of materials.
- Submits meetings attended monthly on survey monkey report by the 10th of each month.
- Submits Meeting Participant Lists, Travel Report, and Time Sheet with Leave Report from the Absence MGNMT System by the 10th of each month.
- Submits other forms as necessary and requested by OCECD main office.
| | | Attends regular staff meetings. Participates in zoom calls/conf calls/webinars, and some conferences. Assists with OCECD conference or meeting arrangements when requested by the Executive Director. Filing and typing and organization for own office.
